Even if we had cable or satellite, we wouldn't watch The Academy Awards. I might reconsider if they pared things down to, oh, about ten minutes. And that would be ten minutes of "red carpet" time only. I do enjoy looking at the dresses, jewelry and hairstyles. (Which is why I treat myself each year to the
People Magazine issue that has the Best and Worst of Oscar fashions.) Anyway, if I'm looking for glamor I'll take the kind my friends at BESTeam serve up. The hand-crafted kind.
It's easy to see that Joy gets her inspiration from the colors and textures of the natural world around her. The rich, bright, vibrant swirls and splashes of colors come from the fine silk dyes with which she hand-paints her flowing creations. Truly elegant, wearable art. Joy also offers couture pieces and has also begun selling elegant jewelry that beautifully complements her scarves, shawls and gowns.
Boretto Art
New to BESTeam, Australian artist Lesley creates bright and imaginative acrylic paintings depicting city streets, sunny beaches, fashionable ladies and a myriad of other subjects - all painted in bold, strong strokes using a palette knife. Lesley's passion for color, composition and...dreaming shines through in each work of art.
A little closer to home, Patty crafts her necklaces, bracelets and earrings from gemstones, beads and pearls. From soft, subtle greens, pinks and lavenders, to deep cerulean and bright red, you'll find both "everyday" pieces and special occasion items perfect for every outfit.
As part of my
BESTeam
commitment, throughout the month I will be posting short features of
several of the fabulous shops and talented artisans who comprise the
team. What is BESTeam? It's The Boosting Etsy Shops Team and our goal
is to give support to each other and to help promote each others' Etsy
shops through blogging, Facebook and other social networks. If you are
an Etsy shopowner and are interested in learning more about BESTeam,
please visit the
team page on Etsy or have a look at the
BESTeam blog.
Thank you for the elegant feature, Love Love Love Boretto Art's painting of La Tour Eiffel!
ReplyDeleteWe watched the Academy Awards this year for the first time in many years. Now the husband is all hepped up to watch "Hugo" on video.
ReplyDeleteThe Oscars are always live when we're enjoying our own "beauty sleep". In any case, we get it dished up all day the next day, almost without a break! Even the dresses get boring after about the 9th viewing! Unlike your choices, Annie! Great blog, as ever and well done to all the Artisans featured.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the feature.
